Your Art. Our Rooms.Submit
It’s time to let you in on a highly sought after secret… the final shortlist of artists for QT Museum Wellington’s ‘Your Art. Our Rooms’ Initiative.
When it came to diversity, style and medium, we had an overwhelming number of MoMA worthy submissions.
In true QT style, we recognise art, design and talent when we see it. We are now looking at including more rooms to be opened up to showcase a unique artwork on the walls, balconies, ceilings… wherever your paintbrush, camera or spray-can takes you.
And we also think some of the works may be more suited to our public spaces, so watch this space, literally!
Today we are announcing an extensive short list of finalists – 24 in fact! Each of these artists will be personally contacted over the course of the next week to begin further discussions around their submissions.
Winning artists and their winning artworks will be unveiled here on this site over the next few weeks.
So without further ado, a huge congratulations to each of the 24 artists below for making the shortlist:

..this hotel, QT Museum Wellington, is a solid and direct supporter of artists. The collection in its public areas represents this and its importance and depth of involvement in this country’s art realm. The In-Room Art Project expands this inclusive range and gives opportunities to an even wider field of New Zealand artists to join a staunch collection. As an artist who dodges the official gallery and collector world, its rad to see an open call for such a recognised placement. I am honoured to be involved in this process.
This is a special opportunity for contemporary New Zealand artists across media to contribute to an iconic institution, that has made a distinctive cultural mark in a city known for its innovative approach to art outside the gallery. This hotel is well known for its support of our artists, and I’m hoping diverse artists of excellence, at every stage of career, will respond to this open call.
