What’s on at the Sydney Opera House

With the month of May just around the corner, it’s time to think about how you’re going to keep warm through what is typically a cold AF month.

Sure, you could purchase a spa, but who in Sydney has the space for a miniature-heated pool? No one, that’s who.

It’s month’s like these that the culture of Sydney is there to wrap you up in a warm and cosy blanket. Remidning you that even though late night culture may be dead in the harbour city, the early evening period is stacked with the goods.

There is nowhere as stacked as the Sydney Opera House. You know the place, across from the bridge, near the water… the one with the tiled sails. You know… find a map HERE

Location aside, the month of May brings a solid lineup of must-see acts take to the stages of the Opera House; here are just a few highlights to stoke over:

Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone Film with Live Orchestra
What more could you actually want? Harry Potter in the Concert Hall with the live accompaniment of a full Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Just imagine the magic in the room as the staircases are revealed to Harry’s eyes for the very first time. This is a must see event, for fans of the Potter Universe and classical music.

Harrison Craig – Kings of Vegas
Nostalgic of the way Vegas used to be? Mr Harry Craig is here to play a whole host of those old tunes from the capital of sin. Classics like She’s a Lady, Comin’ Home Baby and I’ve got you under my skin will have you reliving all those memories of the jazz world from the strip.

The Australian Ballet
Nutcracker — The Story of Clara
Presented by The Australian Ballet, Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Nutcracker – The Story of Clara is back to celebrate its 25th birthday and is set to enchant a whole new audience. This piece focuses on Clara, a former ballerina who finds herself reminiscing her glory days from Australian shores.

The Wombats
Let’s dance to Joy Division and celebrate the irony or maybe you’re more into Tales of Girls, Boys and Marsupials; whatever your flavour, the boys are back for two nights only in the Concert Hall, nonetheless. Celebrate those mid/late 00’s vibes with their take on pop culture and coming of age classics. You don’t want to miss this one, even if you haven’t given them a spin recently.

Now that you find yourself in a state of hunger for tickets to the above events, you can head over HERE.

Keep in mind that Vivid LIVE takes over with some amazing performances from May 26, check that out HERE
