Valentine’s Day in the Harbour City

Feb 9, 2017  ·  2 min read

words by josh ives

Well, it’s that time of year again. That fateful day approaches. The day of roses, candlelit dinners and Barry White.

We can all agree that, besides anniversaries and whatnot, this is the one day of the year that you need to bring your A-game to impress your respective paramour.

So, whether you’re dreading the 14th Feb like the plague and have no idea what to do, or whether you’re an old-school romantic that simply wants a fresh idea to top off your super-date, QT Sydney always has your back.

Roses at work
‘I have a delivery for a  (insert partner’s/tinder match’s name here) on the 18th floor’. C’mon, this one is a romantic no-brainer! Nothing sets up the perfect day like a personal delivery of roses and a barbershop quartet to the office. Valentine’s Day falls on a Tuesday, and unfortunately, we don’t yet have the luxury of calling this a public holiday so we have to improvise a little to make this standard 9-5 day a little easier to deal with. Roses aren’t the cheapest flower, but we all knew this was going to burn a bit of a hole so why fight it?

Boat ride for two
Nothing says I love you like a private row-boat down a gentle stream. Odds are, you’ve seen (and re-seen) The Notebook. Well, great news Captain, because Darling Harbour has got you covered! Head on down to the beautifully picturesque waterside next to the Darling Quarter where a fleet of romantically decked out boats will be waiting to take Sydney’s lovers out for a 30-minute jaunt around the Harbour.
