Well, it’s that time of year again. That fateful day approaches. The day of roses, candlelit dinners and Barry White.

We can all agree that, besides anniversaries and whatnot, this is the one day of the year that you need to bring your A-game to impress your respective paramour.

So, whether you’re dreading the 14th Feb like the plague and have no idea what to do, or whether you’re an old-school romantic that simply wants a fresh idea to top off your super-date, QT Sydney always has your back.

Roses at work
‘I have a delivery for a  (insert partner’s/tinder match’s name here) on the 18th floor’. C’mon, this one is a romantic no-brainer! Nothing sets up the perfect day like a personal delivery of roses and a barbershop quartet to the office. Valentine’s Day falls on a Tuesday, and unfortunately, we don’t yet have the luxury of calling this a public holiday so we have to improvise a little to make this standard 9-5 day a little easier to deal with. Roses aren’t the cheapest flower, but we all knew this was going to burn a bit of a hole so why fight it?

Boat ride for two
Nothing says I love you like a private row-boat down a gentle stream. Odds are, you’ve seen (and re-seen) The Notebook. Well, great news Captain, because Darling Harbour has got you covered! Head on down to the beautifully picturesque waterside next to the Darling Quarter where a fleet of romantically decked out boats will be waiting to take Sydney’s lovers out for a 30-minute jaunt around the Harbour.

Twilight Harbour Cruise
Pretty much the apex of all dates, nothing makes them feel more special than being treated to a night on the water as you dine against the ever-changing but stunningly beautiful Sydney backdrop. This one is really up there with the Holy Grail of romantic gestures. Departing from Circular Quay, Darling Harbour or Manly, this is no ordinary ferry ride. Enjoy envious views of the city and its major landmarks as you feast on a deliciously tempting 3-course meal replete with champagne, music and good times.

Valentine’s Day Special at Gowings Bar & Grill
Valentine’s Day can be stressful, but once you’re at dinner, smiling across from your date as you wonder whether they’re having a good time, the pressure comes off. Let me put this another way, once you’re seated graciously by the Gowings Bar & Grill hostess on Level 1 of QT Sydney, you are most definitely off the hook because you have just made the evening. Sit down, order the wine and let us take care of the rest. Save some room for dinner because we are about to woo you and your beloved with a four-course culinary delight. We’re so excited about this in fact, that we’ve dedicated a page for you to whet your appetite.

Whatever your choice of cheese, Valentine’s Day is only as special as you want to make it. Sure for those with the means, a Seaplane ride over the city followed by a rooftop dinner is great, but then, so is a little picnic and some romantic music playing from your iPhone speakers out in the Botanical Gardens.

Whatever you choose to do, may you always have a NetFlix account.
