Of all the articles that I write, I must say as a pretty obsessed movie-buff, I have had great pleasure in recounting the Tropfest 2017 short-film festival for you lovely people.
For those of you just joining us here at QT Sydney Life, we spoke a couple of weeks ago about the anticipation and buzz around the inaugural Sydney film festival whereby a series of produced short-films compete for your entertainment on the big-screen to take out the big prize.
It was by all accounts, a fantastic evening on the green, spent laughing and crying in equal measure as you became transported for seven sweet minutes to the lives of those, larger than life characters.
Well, the judges have conferred and the results are in, for there can be only one winner.
And the Tropfest Pineapple award goes to…The Mother Situation by Matt Day!
This little gem kept me hooked from the first second. The storyline follows the conversation of three grown-up siblings as they discuss in not-so-hushed tones their feelings towards their estranged mothers’ decision to “commit euthanasia”.
So once again, huge congratulations to the cast and crew behind this piece for a very interesting seven minutes of the film.
