Sydney’s Abuzz with Spring Infused Pop-Up Bars

Oct 18, 2017  ·  2 min read

Sydney’s festive season is in full swing and with that comes ample evening activities, long warm nights and…pop-up bars. A beloved pastime of Sydneysiders, these blink-and-you’ll-miss-it bars are starting to appear all over the city. Whether you’re a gin fiend or beer fanatic, there’s a tipple on offer to suit all tastes.

Here are our top four picks for must-go pop-up bars:

Busby’s Pop-Up Bar

Fancy a gin cocktail in the lush surrounds of the Royal Botanic Garden? We sure do. Nothing quite says ‘spring in Sydney’ more than alfresco drinks overlooking our magnificent harbour. This picturesque pop-up is set to stay all summer and even serves delish picnic boxes and charcuterie – need we say more?

Time Out Hop-Up

Sydney Beer Week kicks off this Saturday which means the annual Time Out Hop-Up Beer Bar is back! Located in World Square for the week, the Hop-Up will be serving an array of frothy craft brews from all over Australia complemented by local live music acts and a burger pop-up from Grill’d.

Hayman’s Gin Supper Club

This is another one for all gin enthusiasts. England’s oldest gin distillery family, Hayman’s Gin, has arrived in Sydney for the month of October and is set to transport you back to Old Blighty. Teaming up with the Lord Dudley Hotel, the Supper Club will offer a unique pairing of classic gin cocktails with a menu of British favourites.

Colour Fields Pop-Up Bar

This is one to pop in your calendar. From November 1, the harbourside terrace of the Museum of Contemporary Art will be transformed into a stunning rainbow-hued bar inspired by Piplotti Rist’s exhibition ‘Sip My Ocean.’ Not only will you be able to devour share plates and cocktails in this kaleidoscopic wonderland, but there will be arts and craft workshops every Wednesday and summer tunes every Sunday courtesy of Future Classic DJs.
