Sydney Live

Everyone loves going out for a live gig. Long considered the true testament of an artist’s ability, live shows are our chance to get up close and personal (…sorta) with our idols. It’s an escape from reality channelled through our fandom and we love it. From individual shows at the State Theatre to the epic summer festivals, live gigs are our jam.

So, on the back of the total and utter excitement overdrive that resulted from Adele’s first live Australian tour announcement, I thought I’d keep that momentum up by keeping you good folks in the know regarding the hottest live gigs out there next month.

Flume:
Born Harley Edward Streten and better known by his stage name Flume, this 23-year-old Sydney-home grown legend has gone from strength to strength over the past couple of years, enjoying almost unparalleled success. Basically the new self-made name in Australian electronic house, this dude just keeps pumping out banger after banger!
So what do you do when you’re considered a global legend, you just killed it at Coachella and you just went to number one in the ARIA charts with your second album, Skin? Naturally, you announce a 70-show world tour ending with a bang in your hometown of Sydney! If you were one of the lucky pups who secured their ticket back in July, nice work! If not, keep your eyes out for your Facebook feed because someone is bound to let theirs go for a hefty price. With back-to-back finales on the December 9 and 10 at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena, this one is sure to go down in the ol’ history books.

The Stone Roses:
If you’re a fan of true old-school British rock, then this one is right up your alley! Rocking out since the 60s, these Manchester-born legends have truly stood the test of time! Used to melting faces in arenas, the band are moving into a more intimate setting as they play 3 nights at the Sydney Opera House from the 12th to the 14th December. Yep, dig out your old sixties singlet and let loose under the sweat and swag of true old-school rock and roll. Tickets HERE

A Flea In Her Ear:
Three words: Famously French Fun.
Renowned worldwide as the most famous French farce that has ever farced famously, A Flea In Her Ear impressively yet saucily takes traditional over-the-top buffoonery to the next level. Get ready to laugh your socks off, quite literally as you witness the drama unfold in front of you. Set in Paris in 1908, the play focuses on the aftermath of a suspected affair of Madame Raymonde Chandebise, as she attempts to confront her mischievous husband. Writer Georges Feydeau takes the audience on a ridiculously wacky journey as he not-so-subtlely explores the true spectrum of human emotions. Running until December 17, you haven’t got long to experience this roller coaster ride of a play, presented brilliantly by the Sydney Theatre Co. at the spectacular Sydney Opera House. Tickets HERE
