The suburb of Redfern is one of Sydney’s best kept secrets. While everyone else is lingering around Surry Hills on Saturday mornings being all thin and awkward lean-y and posing for Instagram, Redfern is hosting some of the best fresh produce and design markets that the city has to offer.

The Eveleigh Markets are collection of the organic, the local, the vegan and the delicious. Propped out the front of one the iconic Carriageworks arts venue, farmers and growers come from miles around to share their products with an appreciative audience. And it’s not only about grabbing the groceries. The Eveleigh Markets are an incredibly friendly and social experience, with most who attend happy to grab a truly perfect coffee, various sweets that will make your face melt and enjoy the community atmosphere.

This weekend, however, there is an additional treat instore for anyone who can make it down. This Saturday, December 21 a selection of delicious Christmas fare will be on offer at the annual Eveleigh Farmers’ Christmas Market.  Over 80 NSW & ACT farmers and artisan food producers pack their trucks with their fresh, seasonal and homemade produce they grow, rear or make. This is always a great day to celebrate Christmas with the community over long brunch tables, Eveleigh Christmas Hamper raffle with Oz Harvest, Farmer Christmas and so much more.  Remember you can pre-order all your Christmas Foodie dreams throughout December for collection on the day.

The Eveleigh Farmers Markets are held at Carriageworks, 245 Wilson Street Eveleigh, every Saturday from 8am to 1pm.
