M.J. Bale Spring 2016

Aug 19, 2016  ·  2 min read

By Ben Stephens.

When you mix the legend of the beat generation, Jack Kerouac and the actual King of Cool, Steve McQueen with a Slim Arrons Poolside Gossip vibe photoshoot, in the uber chic environment of Palm Springs and surrounds, what you get is an A+ look book and a rad Spring line from the dapper dudes at M.J. Bale. The Spring release, On the rouge; Postcards from a well-dressed gentleman, is a fresh reminder that M.J. Bale are still delivering the top notch threads with that home grown flair that we love.

Now, the 2016 spring line is bringing the classic staples like the single breasted merino suits, mixing things up with lapel sizes, while still rocking every shade of blue that your mind can fathom. Add to that a number of power suits with a choice of patterns, from checks to pin-stripes to some darker shades of grey and that almost black, spring is looking sharp.

It’s when you look past the classics from M.J. Bale that clear favourites begin to shine through in this collection. Taking inspiration from being On the road, the collection throws around an awesome deep chocolate leather jacket, summer-ready white chinos and some fresh polos, all of which will help you with the winter/summer seasonal switch. One huge standout, a rather loud piece for the party boys, is a sweet cotton-linen Porton navy jacket, it has that poolside vibe but with fine details, creating a very Sydney feel.

Now to snatch some of these awesome new threads, you would be best advised to head to your nearest M.J. Bale store, a personal favourite is the Queen Victoria Building store. Here they can help you out with a little tailoring, some fashion tips and as always a good chat. To wet your whistle though, head over to their website to check out all the new arrivals or grab some advice on how to iron a shirt properly.
