Top Four picks for Good Food Month

Sep 28, 2017  ·  3 min read

It’s no secret we are mad about food here at QT Sydney – and this October we get to celebrate a whole month of it! Good Food Month is back with an array of fabulous foodie-focused events dotted throughout many great haunts across the city. We have rounded up a handful of events we think are going to be crackers. Take a peek below at our top picks below.

Marco Pierre White in Conversation presented by The Sydney Morning Herald

One of the most lauded and talked about chefs in the world, Marco Pierre White, hits our shores again for this stellar event. Marco, who’s previously been credited with transforming the fine dining scene, will be joined on stage by one of the country’s best-known food writers, The Australian Financial Review’s Jill Dupleix to have a culinary discussion at the Hilton that’s sure to whet the appetite of the food and chef obsessed. An Italian affair with Balla & LuMi Bar & Dining

Italian meets, well, Italian at this grand event. Molto bene! Balla makes everything in house using organic ingredients, sustainable seafood and free-range meats, while LuMi Bar & Dining is headed by the Citi Chef of The Year 2017 Federico Zanellato and is constantly regarded as one of the city’s best. Both teams combine to take diners on a journey down memory lane in Italy. Guests will enjoy a four-course menu with matching wines perfectly prepared by these two authentic chefs for a truly Italian affair. Tickets HERE

Let’s Talk About the Future of Food

This one is certainly going to pique the interest of those concerned with sustainability and food security. These topics, plus more, will be discussed in conjunction with food charity Oz Harvest at Hyde Park Palms. Ronni Kahn, CEO & founder of OzHarvest will lead the discussion with a panel of experts and passionate industry folk who work hard to secure the future of food. There will also be a three-course fine dining menu created by OzHarvest chef Travis Harvey with food rescued from previous Hyde Palms events. Tickets HERE

Night Noodle Markets

An all-time favourite that comes back each year is the Night Noodle Markets, an Asian-inspired hawker market where one can taste-test loads of different options from their favourite pop-up restaurants. Entry is free and you can feast on all you can eat. And to make things quick and easy, the markets will again be cash-free, so you’ll be able to spend less time queuing, and more time eating. It’s like music to our ears. More details HERE
