Finding new music is something we’re all faced with. It’s a constant and time-consuming battle that seems to rear its unenthused head after you’ve been smashing the same track, mix or playlist on repeat for 11 days straight.
Maybe you’ve fallen in Degrassi Junior High-esque love with the new dancehall pop track from Drake and you’ve been riding it til the wheels fall off. You might’ve been sucked into the world of Kiev techno and the hypnotic mixes from post-revolution Ukraine. Or perhaps you’ve been listening to the new Serial podcast because, unlike the ‘good ol’ days”, finding good music is just too damn hard.
Well then, have we got a deal for you? This automatic, systematic, hydromatic playlist was carefully put together by Andrew Lewis, our resident music guy, for your listening pleasure.
With names like Jungle, Mark Ronson, Stevie Wonder, Gramatik, Dusty Springfield, Crazy P, Nite-Funk, Sure Thing and Sydney local lads, RUFUS, this playlist has an eclectically ace mix of classic, clandestine and admired tunes. There’ll be a few you know, a couple you’d forgotten about and numerous tunes you probably haven’t heard of.
Plug in your headphones or connect that Bluetooth and wander through tasty camembert disco, brass band sexual healing and beats that will make you tap your feet like you’ve got bubblegum on your soul.
The QT Sydney playlist is choc-a-block with excellent listening, but keep an ear out for these standout tracks:
Stevie Wonder – Boogie On Reggae Woman
