Sydney Christmas Markets To Look Forward To

Dec 1, 2017  ·  3 min read

It’s beginning to look a lot like the silly season, which means it’s time to eat, drink and shop ‘til you drop at Sydney’s array of Christmas markets. From arts and design markets to stalls and stalls of edible Xmas treats – you’ll be sure to find the perfect gift for your loved ones (and maybe even a few for yourself).

Here’s where to pick up all your stocking fillers this Christmas:

Porteno Christmas Markets

3 Dec

Surry Hills institution Porteno is holding its first-ever Christmas market this Sunday to kick off the festive season. Have a jolly good time browsing the works of local designers and producers and munching on bites from the Porteno kitchen. ‘Tis the season of giving, so don’t forget to bring a gold coin for entry – all proceeds go to the Westmead Children’s Hospital.

Finders Keepers Markets

8 – 11 Dec

Returning just in time for Christmas, this 200 stall artisan market is a Sydney favourite. Spread across three days in a new location of the Cutaway at Barangaroo, get ready to scour stalls laden with handmade wares and local art perfect for the design-savvy ones in your life. With live music, two bars, coffee carts and a stack of food trucks, there’ll be no shortage of things to see, hear and devour.

Christmas Fare at Hyde Park

14 Dec

For one evening only, the Hyde Park Barracks Museum will be transformed into a festive foodie’s heaven. Featuring some of Sydney’s finest artisan producers and vendors, they’ll be serving up delicious delights like pickles, gourmet sauces, smoked meats and sweet-tooth pleasers. Take a stroll down Makers Lane for some design goodies too – you can even get them looking pretty at the gift wrapping station!

Carriageworks Twilight Christmas Market

23 Dec

We’ve all been there. It’s two days before Christmas and you’ve left your pressie purchasing a little late. Lucky for you, the annual Carriageworks Twilight Christmas Markets will be back on December 23rd and is the perfect place for last-minute stocking stuffers and super fresh seasonal produce. This year’s Christmas markets will have more than 160 stalls and take over the entire Carriageworks precinct so you’ll have a plethora of options to make the final dash to the Christmas tree a little less stressful.
