Australian Ballet Active Wear
words by o.k. glynn
I am not going to lie to anyone, I have, more than once, worn active-wear with absolutely no intention of doing anything active. I will do my groceries, lie in bed, watch movies and shop for more active-wear in my active-wear.
It’s comfortable, it flows with my limited movements and it means I don’t have to actually do my hair or face in any way because people may just think I’ve come from the gym, which means it’s totally acceptable to look like a bedraggled naked mole-rat.
Active-wear has become a phenomenon in its own right; not just as comfy every-day clothes, but as serious work-out gear (as it’s intended, to be fair) and a new line has recently dropped.
If you’re hoarding your dollars, stop reading now because you’re going to want to be in, on and around this.

When you think of using your active-wear for it’s intended use, you may see sweaty gyms and pumping pop anthems, but take a load of the new Australian Ballet collaboration with Huntrlnd – it screams chic, sophisticated style, soft classical beats and people so artistically graceful it makes you want to weep with happiness and jealousy.
It’s a bittersweet and weird feeling.
Jump on HERE to check out the full range. Modeled by the effortlessly beautiful Australian Ballet dancers Dimity Azoury, Georgia Scott-Hunter and Telstra Ballet Dancer of the Year award winner Callum Linnane, this transeasonal line is gender neutral, giving absolutely everyone the chance to feel like a delicate flower petal.
Technically, it’s designed for the barre and the gym; the gear is set around the power and athleticism of ballet, hugging every muscle and lifting in all the right places to keep you floating like a swan.
However, they’ve also done a damn fine job of making it look as sleek and impressive as the legs of a dancer, so you’ll be wanting to wear it on the barre and to the bar.
And the shops. And out to coffee. Maybe even sleep in it, who cares.
You’re part of the Australian Ballet team now, no one can judge; you’re always on point(e).
