April, the month before the chill really sets in. This year’s edition has 31 days, much like the previous years.
Though out of those 31 days, there are three glorious public holidays. From Easter to ANZAC Day, you have a handful of extra days to fill with activities. As the good people that we are here at QT Life, here are a number of ways to fill those days this April.
ART
The National: New Australian Art is an exhibition that we’ve been looking forward to for the last six months. A collection of the best new contemporary art that this nation has created; shown through three of the best galleries this city has to offer. From the Museum of Contemporary Art, to the Art Gallery of NSW and Carriageworks, the exhibition is not to be missed. Read more about it HERE and keep in mind that it is completely free.A post shared by Sammy Preston (@sammypreston) on
MUSIC
As the sound of the classic ‘Born Slippy’ drops, you might be forced to recall the first time you watched Ewan McGregor walk across London town with a bag full of cash in the original Trainspotting film; or it might remind you of the 90’s clubbing scene. Either way, you’ll be a nostalgic mess as the English duo, Underworld take to the stage at the Sydney Opera House on April 11. Grab your tickets HERELIVE COMEDY
It’s hard to walk by the comic genius that is Wil Anderson. He’s been with us since the late 90’s, whipping out some of the best stand-up comedy that this country has seen. He’s back in Sydney to play two shows, back to back at the Sydney Opera House this April. He’s touring his show Critically Wil which has scored sell out nights during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and shouldn’t be missed. SEE
If you’re looking for a cute spot for a date this April, may we recommend the Sydney Royal Easter Show? Full of all those agriculture vibes that you’ve come to love, from farm animals to show bags and those crazy rides… Who am I kidding; we’re there for the food and wine. A Royal Show must is walking around all the cheese stalls, sampling the best of local producers matured and not so matured cheese. You’ll find this located next to the wine showroom, a place to pick up your next favourite drop. Ahh, I love this time of year.
