Antidote at the Sydney Opera House

Aug 28, 2017  ·  2 min read

The world can be bloody terrifying at times. The political landscape is an ever changing canvas of people controlled by other people who don’t care for your wants of equality or who take your science about the earth warming and deny it all.

If you let yourself get all bogged down in the noise, you begin to crave a little antidote to all this.

Thankfully the good people at the best-looking house in Sydney have just what you’re looking for; Antidote, and it’s on this weekend!

Antidote will debut at the Sydney Opera House over this coming weekend and is set to tackle some big ideas… Like how facts aren’t really facts anymore when they can be alternative.

As the name suggests, Antidote won’t just throw stones at global issues and look at the broken glass; the weekend will look at how we as a community, can solve these big issues.

Every speaker taking to the Antidote stage will have at some point thrown their reputation on the line to try and create a difference in the world; making it a better place for you and I.

The stories aim to light a fire within the audience and empower you to do the same reputation defining exhibition.

So who will be taking to the Antidote stage? Glad you asked:

The Onion Live will be discussing the hardship of creating satire news in a post-alternative fact age.
Reni Eddoo-Lodge & Celeste Liddle will chat about the highs and lows of online activism.
Soviet-born Arkady Ostrovsky will delve into Russia and their online presence.
Micah White, a co-founder of Occupy Wall Street will explore the idea of protest.
James Thornton & Martin Goodman will call for justice, for planet Earth.

This is just a taste of what Antidote has in store for you. check out the full lineup and grab your tickets HERE.
