Three Totally Different Nights Out In Sydney

Dec 14, 2017  ·  2 min read

Everything not being everyone’s cup of tea means more variety, and variety is the spice of life, is it not? When it comes to going out on the town, variety keeps things so fresh (and so clean, clean). Heading down to the local is great because you know what you’re getting, but doing something different brings indeterminable outcomes and some risk. And risk is spicy.

Here are three very epic and totally alternative nights out in Sydney. Some you’ll want to hold, some you’ll want to fold. Roll the dice on all of them and some might surprise you.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

A ballet reimagining of Lewis Carroll’s mesmerisingly psychedelic and charmingly twisted classic. With Christoper Wheeldon on the choreography and Joby Talbot behind the score, the Australian Ballet will be out to impress ballet buffs and scoffers alike.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is playing at Capitol Theatre Sydney December 22.

S*A*S*H

S*A*S*H, for those who aren’t in the Sydney party circles, is a much-loved Sunday session, and the cause of many groggy, parched and sleep-deprived Mondays. The Xmas stars must have aligned because Christmas Eve happens to fall on a Sunday this year. If you’re looking to wiggle the night before ham, presents and family time – do it in a packed house listening to Coco Beach, French Connection and a host of resident DJs.

S*A*S*H is every Sunday at the Greenwood Hotel from 2pm-10pm and at Home nightclub from 10pm-late.

Busby’s Pop-up Gin Bar

If fermented juniper berry juice is your preferred tipple and beautifully manicured flora is your preferred setting, Busby’s is going to be your jam. Sitting pretty amongst the flowers, this gin pop-up bar offers garden gnomes and city wanderers Bombay Sapphire botanical infused cocktails, tap beers, charcuterie and picnic boxes.

Busby’s Pop-up Gin Bar will be at Victoria Lodge in the Royal Botanic Garden until June 30, 2018.
