About the film

Originally commissioned by the 2013 Gergiev Festival to accompany Richard Wagner’s opera The Flying Dutchman (Der fliegende Holländer), Gladwell reimagined the piece in a contemporary context by reinterpreting the opera as an Australian Surf Film replacing all sailing references with ones involving surfing.

QT Sydney is a proud partner of The Museum of Contemporary Art.
