QT Queenstown Welcomes the City’s People

QT Queenstown is where Mother Nature meets modern design, surrounded by alpine adventure and adrenalin-rich playgrounds as we’ve been saying since opening. QT Queenstown’s housewarming was our chance to show you, and stop telling you!

Designer quirk, tasty tipples and edgy in-room activations were the order of the night after a stroll to 30 Brunswick Street. Invited locals were greeted by a lively cultural performance and a welcome with a smile from the big dogs of QT Queenstown.

Now that part is nothing out of the ordinary … but it wouldn’t be a QT welcome without a bit of a twist!
Upon arrival, all guests were encouraged to sign our guest book and nominate a preferred local cause or charity.

As the night came to a close, we drew 10 lucky nominees who each received a complimentary voucher for One Night’s Accommodation with Breakfast at ours. Whether it’s a local pre-school, the SPCA or the Sallies, the recipients can use the voucher to fundraise, reward a team member or basically any way they like! More on this later …

We encouraged everyone to nosey around the rooms and delight in the bespoke art activations before indulging in some tasty tipples in Reds Bar after revelling in the QT Life. The focus was on the unexpected and luxury comforts in every room category.

We had two forms of living statues; hikers on the search for native flora and fauna and retro snow bunnies who were clearly seasonally confused due to the 28 degree heat, and a champagne room for guests to take in the view and delightful glass of G.H.Mumm.

Not to mention the live tattooing. Yes, that’s right. We dared five guests to get inked with a permanent reminder of the evening. All things Queenstown were on offer … “Fancy a snowflake on your chest? How big?” “The outline of the Remarkables? Which wrist?” We literally had you covered.

Explorations of the hotel for perusal, play and the party continued with cocktails and canapes flowing into Reds Bar. With a drink in hand, and a sweet or savoury morsel in the other, we raised our glasses to the evening and the announcement of the local causes QT Queenstown were going to donate room nights’ to.

General Manager of EVENT Hotels & Resorts New Zealand, Simon White says, “QT staff felt it was important to have a housewarming event for the local community and give them the opportunity to explore the hotel and meet the awesome people working there. The housewarming was a fantastic event and everyone I spoke to felt positive about QT being a part of the community.”

4. Women’s Refuge
5. Plunket Queenstown
6. Queenstown Fire Brigade
7. Jigsaw Central Lakes
8. Air Rescue Trust
9. Happiness House
10. Happiness House
(Two room nights have been gifted to Happiness House due to overwhelming support!)
