The fittest and the leanest will be descending upon Queenstown this November for the 5th annual Queenstown International Marathon! It’s one of the busiest weekends of the calendar year, so if you’re heading to us over the weekend of November 17th, you’re in for one hell of a ride!
Competitors from all over the world will descend their six-packs into a town famous for wine and cheese, and take what is said to be one of the most scenic runs in the entire world.
There are three different races happening this day – the ultimate Air New Zealand Marathon, 42 km across mountai terrain, the NZ Sotheby’s Half Marathon, still a grueling course but this time only 21.1KM (I say “only”, but I couldn’t compete even if zombies were chasing me. I would give up immediately and join the zombies), and the Cigna 10KM run. If you’ve got kids inclined for the fitness life, there is a 2.2KM Kid Run on the day as well!
If all of this sounds like it is not in ANY way up your alley, you can still join in on the day by sitting in the gardens at the finish line and giving all the competitors a good cheer as they hit those final steps. You can crack open some wine, bask in the sun and still be a big part of the fitness fun.
Entries are closing fast, so if you do feel like you want to give it a red hot go, jump onto their website to register. Stay a night at ours (or three) for several post-run jaunts such as, a blow out feast at Bazaar, soak our deep dish tubs and restful slumber in one of our QT Gel Beds.
