Vivid is Finally Here!

The 10th annual Vivid Sydney festival is here and we are excited!

Light, colour, lots of people and a tonne of excitement … You can expect to see all these in abundance from 25 May until 16 June at Vivid Sydney. There will be almost 100 light works at this year’s festival so there is definitely plenty of amazing things to peruse.

On show for the 10th year, Vivid really is a major highlight of the annual Sydney calendar and it just never gets old, it’s that amazing.

If the buzz in Sydney isn’t enough, you also have the light installations, events and Vivid-centric functions at bars, restaurants and all around the city, in general, to be excited about.

Let’s focus on the lights for now. Our picks for the must-see lighting this year are as follows.

Sydney Opera House

The most famous and iconic building in Sydney will be putting on the usual wow-factor display. Australian artist, Jonathan Zawada has created a unique custom artwork to beam onto the sails that one and all will appreciate.

Taronga Zoo

Not surprisingly, the Zoo is putting on a stunning wildlife-themed presentation that is truly mind-boggling and beautiful. With one of the best views in Sydney and some mesmerising light displays, you will be in for a true treat.

Customs House

Paying homage to Australian author, May Gibbs’, iconic characters Snugglepot and Cuddlepie as they turn 100, children and adults alike will appreciate this special tribute.

There will also be stunning sights to see in The Royal Botanic Gardens, Circular Quay, Darling Harbour, Barangaroo, Kings Cross, the Rocks and Walsh Bay so get to wandering and enjoying.
