The Rooftop at QT crowned ‘Best Hotel Bar’ at the 2017 HM Awards

Posted on: 13 September 2017

With more than 600 hoteliers and industry leaders in attendance, designer hotel QT Melbourne celebrated a win with the Rooftop at QT crowned ‘Best Hotel Bar’ at the prestigious 2017 HM Awards on Friday September 1st.

Held at the iconic Sydney Town Hall and hosted by television personality Larry Emdur, the HM Awards continue to recognise the accommodation industry’s finest staff, properties, brands and chains across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.

With QT Hotels & Resorts up for an impressive 18 awards across the portfolio, including the flagship of QT Sydney and QT Melbourne, QT Port Douglas, QT Falls Creek, QT Canberra and QT Museum Wellington, former Managing Director David Seargeant was also awarded for his service to the industry.

Having only opened in September last year this achievement marks one of many for the  rooftop who has been included in numerous best rooftop bar round-ups, and was awarded ‘Best Bar’ at the Australian Gourmet Traveller Hotel Guide Awards earlier in the year.

Showcasing views of the spectacular Melbourne city skyline, The Rooftop at QT is the place to quench your thirst while taking in the heart and soul of Melbourne from above.  Hosting up to 185 patrons, the split indoor/outdoor space evokes sophistication through designer décor and cutting edge sound.

QT Hotels & Resorts first put its stamp on the Australian tourism sector with the launch of QT Gold Coast in 2011. The unique and exciting property delivered the first injection of QT’s signature designer spaces with bold entertainment and intriguing yet relaxing guest experience. Now one of Australia’s most loved and dynamic hotel brands, the family of properties include QT Gold Coast, QT Port Douglas, the flagship QT Melbourne, QT Sydney, QT Falls Creek, QT Canberra and QT Bondi.

Adding to its portfolio of stunning boutique hotels and resorts, the recently opened QT Museum Wellington in New Zealand marks QT’s first international property, with QT Queenstown to open later in the year. QT is set for further expansion with plans for QT Perth currently underway.
