DINING WITH MONET

Posted on: 22 June 2017

QT Museum Wellington and signature dining offering Hippopotamus has forged a collaboration mirroring its strong focus on art and creative industries, during the city’s annual celebration of the culinary arts – Visa Wellington On a Plate. On Wednesday August 23, guests dining at Hippopotamus Restaurant will “Dine with Monet”. From foodies looking for the next-best-thing, to the creative consumer always looking for more, this event is for those looking further than a luxurious French dining experience.

In addition to Hippopotamus’ quality, service and unrivalled harbour views, the Dine with Monet experience includes a menu inspired by Claude Monet – artist and foodie alike. Revisit late 19th Century France through a modern day lens and explore a collision between art and gastronomy, with five bespoke courses guided by the book Monet’s Palate – The Artist and His Kitchen Garden at Giverny. Loudeac says, “Monet’s passion for food was expressed through his beloved garden. Guests at this event will enjoy bountiful New Zealand produce and traditional French cooking”.

Guests will be inspired and educated by an expertly curated five course degustation, a collaboration between art historian Dr. Wendy Joyce of Victoria University and Executive Chef Laurent Loudeac. This is collaboration showcases of how the brand has been built on innovation and reputation for doing things differently.
QT Museum Wellington continually seeks areas to support the entertainment and creative industries and passion for the arts – as QT Museum Wellington showcases the country’s largest privately owned art collection.

Located on the third floor at QT Museum Wellington, Hippopotamus Restaurant’s continuously delivers and experience a high-end degustation where guests can discover, entice and revel over first-class fare. QT Museum Wellington continues to push its artistic boundaries through clever collaboration and its support of the capital’s burgeoning art, design and performing arts scene.
