Moonlight Cinema Program Has Dropped

Let’s think of things that are better outside. Eating and drinking – 100% yes. Movies? Believe it or not, when all three of those things are combined, yes. Plonking down on rug or beanbag under the stars to watch a flick is something to be experienced. Throw in a chilled tin, glass of Sauv blanc and some choice eats, and you’ve got the ultimate date night for long-time lovers, as well as Tinder-swiping first base optimists. You’ve got Moonlight Cinema.

Moonlight Cinema recently dropped the program for its summer instalment, and to take advantage of an annoyingly overused line, it’s got something for everyone (it really has).

Starting November 28 at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Moonlight Cinema will be dishing up advanced screenings, new releases and a bounty of classics.

If you’re looking to XXX through some Action, then The Joker should have you on the edge of your seat sufficiently. If you’re feeling festive then a screening of Elf or Home Alone will serve nicely. While, if the sequel-happy world of sci-fi, adventure and comic books is more your cup of gin, then there are plenty of lasers and hero smash-em-ups with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Knives Out and Jumanji: The Next Level.

There’s also A Star is Born and Love Actually for the romantics, and Frozen 2, JoJo Rabbit and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil for the little ones.

Punters are more than welcome to BYO food and booze to Moonlight Cinema, however the al fresco, lawn-based silver screen offers an LA Style Food Truck, candy bar and fully licensed bar.

Moonlight Cinema 2019-20 runs from November 28 – March 29 at Central Lawn at Royal Botanic Gardens. Tickets are available at moonlight.com.au.
