Night Markets at the QV

Sep 20, 2017  ·  2 min read

Wow, it’s cold outside. And windy. Really windy.

with the facts out of the way, let’s talk about getting out of our warm, toasty indoor habitats to brave the outside conditions for food, drinks and damn good live music.

As we turn the corner onto the home stretch of another Victorian summer, we can look forward to scorching hot days and sun-stroked afternoons at the AusOpen.

Though this time that we’ve been blessed with, the time between now and the record hot temps, serves those of Melbourne with the space to enjoy a couple of winter activities that are rather exclusive to colder months.

Like the Winter Markets at the Queen Vic Markets.

Now in their final month, the night markets offer you a place to grab some damn good food, drink and entertainment, while losing yourself in the hustle and bustle of the marketplace.

Finishing up on October 4, the team are still bringing you the best eats, mixed with the best drinks and of course; it wouldn’t be Melbourne without it, a solid musical line-up.

The food offerings are always something that makes your mouth water and this year’s edition is no different.

The team from Bourke Streets Paco Taco will be dishing their Mexican treats, as will That’s Amore Cheese with that wheel of parmesan and your choice of pasta.

The incredible team at Coldstream will be bringing what you came for. Red wine, with spices and heat, poured into a cup to create the wintery treat that is Mulled Wine. If you’re not a giant fan of grape juice, they’ll also be adding some heat to their cider offerings.

The QVM squad have joined up with the John Fish creative to create a number of light installations and nice big open fires to warm your cold soul.

The Night Markets kick off every Wednesday night (until Oct. 4) from 5.00pm to 10.00pm. For more information on stallholders and all that juicy gossip, check out the official QVM Night Market Facebook page HERE
