QT Melbourne has a new Executive Chef

Aug 22, 2017  ·  2 min read

We here at QT love nothing more than welcoming a new member to the quirky family. When that new QT family member knows how to create a dish that alters the mind through a fusion of hidden flavours and new textures, that’s when we get really excited.

QT Melbourne is excited by the appointment of new Executive Chef, Andrew Harmer who will commence with the hotel beginning of October.

Well-known around Melbourne’s culinary scene, as Executive Chef at Vue de Monde and more recently The Point in Albert Park, Harmer will be overseeing the food offering at the designer hotel with an initial focus to Pascale Bar & Grill.

Passionate about luxurious and native ingredients with seasonal cuisine, focusing on the enjoyment of different flavours and texture profiles – Harmer’s fresh approach will be a welcome addition to QT Melbourne.

Brett Sergeant, the Director of Hospitality, Event Hospitality & Entertainment said, “QT Melbourne is an amazing property and we are looking forward to Andy joining the team seeing his talented and creative influence achieve a new level for the hotel.”

Harmer hales from prestigious training in international restaurants including D.O.M with Alex Atala in São Paolo, Brazil.

“This is an exciting career progression for me. I have worked in top kitchens around the world and helping contribute to the growth of the global contemporary travel movement and trend towards hotel restaurants is extremely exciting,” said Harmer. “Working with the incredible produce we have available in Melbourne and QT Melbourne’s rooftop garden, with the fun and professional brand that is QT Hotels & Resorts is going to be great.”

We couldn’t be more stoked to have Harmer at the Helm of QT Melbourne’s culinary offering and look forward to many a long dinner as we get to know his menu.
