There is something about the contemporary art scene that excites us like nothing else.
This being the case we couldn’t be happier to be a partner with the curious minds at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art and to be able to bring guests of QT Melbourne a unique experience.
With private tours and exhibition catalogues, the Art Lovers package offers an exclusive look at the exhibitions hosted by the ACCA.
Current Exhibition: Greater Together
Curated by Annika Kristensen, ACCA’s new exhibition Greater Together features eight artist projects, each complicating the notion of the ‘individual’ to focus instead on collaboration and cooperation as an essential part of the art-making process.
Visitors can expect to see large-scale installations, videos, performances, artist talks and public forums in this multi-layered exhibition which considers how skill-sharing and the exchange of ideas can help make sense of this complex and changing world.
Highlights include Goldin+Senneby’s relocation of a full-scale, mature oak tree into the gallery, beneath which, every day at 2.12pm, an ACCA team member will recite a poignant tale of a dry cleaner who dreams of getting hired in the position of a gallery attendant; and a new installation by Bik Van der Pol, inspired in part by the freak meteorological dust storm in Melbourne in 1983, that brings together the words of seven different Australian thinkers as a means to consider collective responses to the challenge of climate change.
