Women In Film Lunch

Mar 11, 2019  ·  2 min read

Greer Simpson has been announced as the guest speaker at the Gold Coast Film Festival’s fifth annual Women in Film Lunch, presented by Screen Queensland.

Producer of the critically acclaimed film Sweet Country and ABC TV series Mystery Road, which combined took out an incredible 11 AACTA’s at last December’s Awards, Greer will share her stories, perspectives and experiences working in the Australian screen industry at Bazaar on Friday 5 April.

“I’m thrilled to speak at the Women in Film lunch event. Attending in the audience last year, it was clear what a warm, welcoming event it is and one of the highlights of the Queensland screen calendar. I’m looking forward to attending the Gold Coast Film Festival again,” she said.

Prior to joining Bunya Productions in 2015, Greer was the Deputy Head of Fiction at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for five years. In the four years at Bunya, Greer has produced films Sweet Country as well as Goldstone and Blue Water Empire, supported by Screen Queensland (SQ), TV series Mystery Road, VR experience Every King Tide, also supported by SQ, and was the Executive Producer on Jasper Jones.

Join us on Friday 5 April for an afternoon of insightful speakers, networking and a delicious seafood buffet at Bazaar, hosted by ABC Gold Coast’s Nicole Dyer. Secure your seats here.
