Turn the Tide

Sep 13, 2012  ·  2 min read

By Benjamen Judd.

We recently had a meeting in the offices of our graphical designer friend about some pretty things we wanted made up for the hotel. What we were really impressed with was the table we were all sitting at. Turns out, it was designed by a man named George who is from Melbourne and we got the low down so we could be copycats and get the same one. Thanks, Steven.

So George Harper is a Melbourne-based furniture designer and maker who started his own business, Tide Design, back in 2007. Aside from making absolutely delicious tables, George is also responsible for the creation of accompanying equally delicious cabinetry and sofas.

The timber used in Tide Design sustainably sourced from North America wherever possible and is designed, manufactured and treated in order to last a lifetime. Best of all, Tide pieces have a limited production time so, once their time is up, it’s up and it’s time for a new table or sofa!

Just in case you were hitting panic buttons about travelling to Melbourne to see a table, interior design concept company Project 82 in Surry Hills stocks a selection of George’s products.

For more information on Tide Design, head to George’s website here.

Project 82 is located at 82 Fitzroy Street, Surry Hills.
