Top 3 Things to do this August

Aug 1, 2016  ·  3 min read

By Stephanie Manning.

Who would have thought the middle of winter would be so damn incredible, jam-packed full of creative events, live music and pop-up feasts under the stars. This August we have put together our list of the best three things to do this month.

Feast under the Tipi

The first ever pop-up feast event on the Gold Coast and it gets even better…. it’s under a giant tipi. This magical outdoor event is the perfect setting for Etsu’s first pop-up dinner. Lucky ticket holders will get to indulge over a Japanese-inspired, wasabi-infused, five-course dinner affair that will be matched with wines and sake. With the Etsu team behind the event; the dinner is sure to be an experience. Keep your eyes peeled on the Etsu Facebook page for more details.

Friday 19th and Saturday 20th August

Broadbeach Jazz Weekend

Who doesn’t love a bit of jazz, especially when it’s live, loud and scattered throughout the streets of Broadbeach. With outdoor stages, pop-up markets, roving entertainment, and local restaurants; the Jazz Weekend is so much more than just jazz. It’s a mini street festival! And it’s free! Make sure you check our Jazz favs; Bustamento and Chukale Afro Cuban Salsa Ensemble for hip-shaking, baby making good times.

Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August

Creative Workshops at Warehouse No 5

You should be familiar with Kiel Tillman by now as he was our artist in residence at our 5th Stingray Birthday Party and featured on our QT Life blog a few months back. We love Kiel (if you haven’t guessed already) and on August 5 he is chatting to us for free as part of the new creative workshops by The Design Kids. But it doesn’t stop there; every event has new speakers, new thought-provoking topics and new inspirations to be absorbed. Check out the Gold Coast line-up on The Design Kids Facebook page.

Various dates throughout August
