TOBY JONES

Jul 12, 2013  ·  2 min read

By Benjamen Judd It is not often that we come across a jewellery range that is not only visually engaging and pleasing to look at but is also completely original. So when we discovered Toby Jones and his latest collection to say we were in a small state of bliss would be an understatement. After working as a designer at infamous street brands Ksubi and Insight, Jones decided it was time to branch out on his own.

What followed was debut range of highly original jewellery and accessories that found beauty in turning everyday objects into something uncanny and fey. From chainmesh fingerless gloves to silver clip pendants, Jones has since shown he has a penchant for turning the quotidian into the unique. For his latest collection, The Lonely Hearts Club, Jones uses his sensibilities for nostalgia to recreate a range of jewellery that is at once delicate yet bold. Brass locks and keys are repurposed into duplicitous rings and pendants. Keys are woven back in themselves to create self-locked rings, barrels from brass pad locks double as signet rings and there a pocket knife is hidden within the depths of a key charm.

The whole range is untraditional yet completely memorable with each piece requiring a double take. For more information, and to buy his work, visit Toby Jones’ website.
