Immerse yourself in three days of brilliant live music at the annual Surfers Paradise LIVE. Kick-starting the festival with the 2017 Gold Coast Music Awards and rolling into three days and nights, covering multiple genres of music with headliners including Australia’s iconic pop sensation, The Veronicas as well as Eskimo Joe, Mental as Anything, Pseudo Echo and Taxiride! Catch the full lineup HERE

Quaff wine and ponder over the spectacular and amusing works of Peter-John De Villiers at the 19 Karen Contemporary Artspace. Guest are invited to the opening night reception of the exhibition titled ‘Domestica’ on Saturday 6th May from 6 pm – 8 pm, which focuses on the humanisation of pets.
“We humanize our pets because they have irresistible personalities”, says Villiers. “They embody the spirit of taking life in the moment, is it possible they are here to teach us something about ourselves? Maybe life should not be taken so seriously? Some of the most valuable lessons I have experienced are through my connection to animals. I am willing to suspend reality for a moment to imagine life through the eyes of my pets”. RSVP HERE

Get along to the Art Centre Gold Coast where Circus Oz explodes back onto the stage, audaciously unpacking the myths of modern Australia with their latest high-octane circus show Model Citizens. The show seamlessly blends the risk, beauty and rawness of acrobatic circus with pumping live music, stunning lighting, breathtaking physical improbability and no shortage of absurdity. Mark your diary for Wednesday 10th May from 6 pm.

Want to improve your photography skills? Let’s face it – photography is a big part of our lives these days! Andrew Thurtell at Thurtell Photography is running a bunch of photography workshops covering all your creative desires! Time to get creative with the camera HERE

Did you know more and more jewellers are using 3D printing to create their pieces? Sounds strange but it’s true! And since jewellery that is 3D printed looks and feels like traditional casted objects, 3D printed jewellery is becoming a BIG thing. Learn all about it for yourself at Helensvale Library with a four-week course running throughout May on how to 3D design, print and sell your jewellery online. Discover more HERE
