Our people – Tom Cromwell

STAFF PROFILE – Tom Cromwell – QT Barista extraordinaire

Happy New Years Tom! How did you spend your NYE?

Oh dude, this one was actually really chill in comparison to last year; I was in time square hanging out, it was awesome… But ah, ya, real chilled out this year.

Did you make any New Year’s resolutions?

Umm, not really…. It’s a little bit cliché.

I feel ya. Most people break them quicker than a sweat in a sauna anyways.

I had the privilege to see you perform a few nights ago, man you’ve got some pipes (vocal chords not drug paraphernalia). How long have you been singing for?

I’ve been singing since I was a kid but professionally for about 5 years or so I suppose.

I also recall seeing something online where you were performing overseas not too long ago?

Ya, that’s it man, I won a competition through youtube to perform in a concert at West End theatre in London; it was an incredible experience.

Are there any artists in particular that influence you?

I listen to a lot of John Mayer, John Legend, Beyonce; lots of R&B, soul, and hints of JT (Justin Timberlake), a lot of jazz as well.

Yes, your rendition of John Legends “ordinary people” was neck hair raise-worthy.

Do you plan on pursuing your singing as a career?

Ya, I’d love to. I don’t really know what else I could do (awkward laugh).

You’ve always got your mad barista skills to fall back onto Tom!
