Mud Masks are a thing! Not just for sleepovers and girls-nights but an actual thing!

Uspa, one of Australia’s favourite active and organic skincare brands (and our product of choice at spaQ) have just launched a new line of lotions and potions…and at the top of our hit list are their Mud Masks.

According to our spaQ Manager, Sarah Hayes, masks can specifically target a range of complexion concerns such as hydration, congestion, acne and inflammation in one concentrated sweep.

“They are becoming increasingly popular due to the superior benefits that can be achieved at home – meaning that this type of therapeutic punch is no longer confined to day spas”, says Hayes.

Uspa have just released a new Hydrating Mud Mask as well as a Deep Cleansing Mud Mask.

The Hydrating Mud Mask uses Kaolin Clay, which is a gentle, non-drying and hydrating clay perfect for sensitive skin. It contains high levels of silica, which aids in cell regeneration. It also improves circulation to the skin, lifts debris from pores and results in a luminescent glow. Other key ingredients include Sea Kelp Extract, Cocoa Seed Butter with extra vitamin E for skin repair and cell renewal PLUS a splash of Palmarosa, Sandalwood and Rose Essential Oils for good measure.

The Deep Cleansing Mud Mask uses Bentonite Clay, which carries a strong negative charge, which bonds to the positive charge in many toxins…stay with me… When the Bentonite Clay comes into contact with a toxin in your skin, it will absorb the toxin and release its minerals for the body to use…now that’s a deep clean! Bentonite also provides oxygen to the cells and is especially calming for the skin.

The Deep Cleansing Mud mask also features a detoxifying and healing herbal complex including: Mistletoe (antiseptic, heals blemishes and degreases the skin), Fennel (detoxifying, balancing, calming), Hops (soothing, antibacterial), Yarrow (anti-inflammatory, soothing), Lemonbalm (antibacterial, antiseptic properties well-known remedy for skin infections) and Chamomile (soothing) heal wounds and strengthens the integrity of the skin…and with its uplifting citrus aroma, it’s good enough to eat!… Obviously don’t do that though.
