MARKETTA MADNESS

The Miami Marketta has established itself as one of the Gold Coast’s most awesome little community markets, arts and live music events since it was launched back in 2011. A once-a-month event, the Marketta provides local designers and eateries a chance to get their goods out and in the publics hands and the next one is this coming Friday, June 14^th.

Whilst sold and spoken about like a market the reality is the Miami Marketta is more like a pocket sized festival that spills out from the stores and into the streets. It’s the kind of event you can expect to find fashion, live music, art exhibitions, food, tattoos, beards and ladies who know the power of a decent heel and a good red lipstick.

Held on the grounds of Rabbit+Cocoon, the new arts precinct on the Gold Coast that is heading the cultural wave of the area, the Marketta is a pop up space that operates on the second Friday of the month from 5pm-10pm (this is the arts creative marketta) and will host 55+ exhibitors in market stall format as well as amazing food and live entertainment. An honourable mention should go out to the Marketta Street Food which happens every Saturday night and brings at least 25 food vendors to make you dribble from your food holes.
