Island Life Festival

Minjerribah (aka North Stradbroke Island) is undoubtedly one of the most stunning places in South East Queensland, if not Australia. With its miles of pristine surfing and swimming beaches, abundant wildlife, wide-open spaces and cracking campgrounds, you can see why founder Morgyn Quinn chose this location to hold the annual Island Vibe Festival.

The Island Vibe team are now set to present their 12th edition of the festival in October, spanning four mighty days of multi-faceted music, arts and island culture.

Dedicated to showcasing the finest reggae, soul and bass music in the Pacific region and beyond. Festival-goers will be treated to performances from Eva Lazarus, Chris Munky, The 4’20 Sound, Andrew Kirwin, Bullhorn, Darky Roots and many (MANY) more!

Depending on your daily vibe, you can catch a bunch of great acts at the Lion Mane Stage, Bamboo Bass, Coconut Lounge or Dub Dome.

Alternatively, check out the huge array of eco workshops on offer including sand art, weaving, tie-dying, African drumming, yoga, dance, films, circus, eco skills and craft.

But Island Vibe is more than just a music festival.

Through its strong cultural program, the festival invites community groups from around Australia and the Pacific to engage in a cultural exchange with the Quandamooka people of Stradbroke Island.

They will even host daily opening and closing ceremonies performed by Minjerribah artists and led by Maria Belle Isle.

And just in case we haven’t already ticked all of your festival boxes, Island Vibe is also aiming at becoming Australia’s Greener Festival, having won several coveted Greener Festival Awards for its eco and sustainability practices in the past.

This year’s eco-initiatives range from a partnership with the Southern Cross University to power up the Coconut Lounge and markets with a mobile solar power generator, to comprehensive composting and recycling stations, and eco packaging for food stalls and promotional materials.
