Gatorade QLD Triathlon competition 17th November

Here is all the info you need to know!

 

QTS

Swim course

  • The Robina swim course for QTS competitors is a 400m U shaped course at event 3 (750m at Event 5 in January).
  • Swimmers head 140m to the first swim buoy.
  • Then head 60m to the next swim buoy, and turn left again.
  • Now heading toward the swim exit, swimmers head straight for 200m to the exit, then into transition.

Bike course

  • The Robina bike course is an L shaped course with a turnaround point at each end, and is three (3) laps for QTS competitors at event 3 (four (4) laps at event 5 in January).
  • QTS competitors head out of transition and go straight through the roundabout onto Robina Parkway toward turn one which is located on the corner of Robina Parkway and Markeri Street.
  • Once making the turn, riders will head back toward the roundabout.
  • Once competitors get to the roundabout they turn left onto Boowaggan Road and head straight toward turn two.
  • Riders make the turn at turn two and head back toward the roundabout.
  • On the last lap at the roundabout turn left into transition area.

Run course

  • For the QTS competitors the Robina run course is a two (2) lap out and back course.
  • After exiting transition, runners head straight down Robina Parkway (SAME direction as the bike course goes on Robina Parkway) toward the turning point (1km at event 2 and 1.25km at event 4 in January).
  • After turning, runners head back toward transition and turn for their second lap at the designated turning point.
  • After completing the second lap, competitors veer right down the finish shoot and over the finish line.

Enticer

Swim course

  • The enticer swim at Robina is a triangular swim course.
  • Enticer competitors swim 80m diagonally across to their first turn.
  • Swimmers then turn left round the swim buoy.
  • Then swim 120m straight to the swim exit and in to transition.

Bike course

  • The Robina bike course is an L shaped course with a turnaround point at each end, and is one (1) lap for Enticer competitors at event 3 which is a 5km total. (It is two (2) laps at event 5 in January which is a 10km total).
  • Enticer competitors head out of transition and go straight through the roundabout onto Robina Parkway toward turn one which is located on the corner of Robina Parkway and Markeri Street.
  • Once making the turn, riders head back toward the roundabout.
  • Once competitors get to the roundabout they turn left onto Boowaggan Road and head straight toward turn two.
  • Enticer competitors turn left back at the roundabout back into transition after completing their lap.

Run course

  • For the Enticer competitors the Robina run course is a one lap out and back course (2km at event 3 and 2.5km at event 5).
  • After exiting transition, runners head straight down Robina Parkway (SAME direction as the bike course goes on Robina Parkway) toward the turning point.
  • After turning, runners head back toward transition.
  • After completing the lap, competitors veer right down the finish shoot and over the finish line.

Kool Kids

Swim course

  • The Kool Kids swim course at Robina is a 100m straight line swim from the starting point to the swim exit.
  • From the swim exit, kids then enter the transition area.

Bike course

  • Kool Kids competitors exit transition and turn left around the roundabout and head along Boowaggan Road.
  • Riders turn around 1km down Boowaggan Road.
  • Kool Kids then head back down to transition and turn left back into the transition area.

Run course

  • The Kool Kids run course at Robina is a 400m out and back one (1) lap course.
  • Runners exit transition at the opposite end to the end they exited for the bike leg.
  • They then run 200m down Robina Parkway and turn at the designated point.
  • Kool Kids competitors then run back towards the transition area.
  • When they arrive at the finish shoot entry they veer right down the finish shoot, taking the competitors across the finish line.
