Dumplings are so hot right now. It seems the Year of the Rooster has us obsessed with the tasty morsels.

We’re on a mission to taste every type of dumpling there is – steamed, pan-fried, deep-fried, boiled, soup…and then linger over every delicious mouthful and critique its intricate flavour and cooking finesse with the poise and consideration of Matt Preston himself.

Ahhh, the dumpling is simple food (unless of course, you’re hand-making them yourself). In the strictest terms, a dumpling is a pastry covering a dollop of meat or vegetables or a combination of both.

However, these tasty bite-sized parcels (once considered entrees) are now taking centre stage on many a Gold Coast menu.

Following the huge success of QT Gold Coast’s Chinese New Year Dumpling Party, Stingray Lounge is excited to announce the launch of KUNG FU STINGRAY – DUMPLING THURSDAYS which is set to launch on Thursday 2nd March.

Each and every Thursday from 7 pm, KUNG FU Stingray will also feature live music by Gold Coast legends, The Hanlon Brothers. The boys have a sound which combines elements of Hip Hop, Jazz, Reggae, Soul and Improvisation – providing the perfect backdrop for a great night out in Surfers Paradise.

And the good vibes don’t end there – enter the dumpling (of course)! 

The team will be dishing out $10 Dumpling Baskets featuring a mix of pork and Chinese cabbage, chicken and vegetable, prawn and pork, prawn and chicken and a few surprise dumplings to keep you on your toes!

And at that price, Dumpling Thursday is sure to please your tastebuds as well as your wallet.
