Are you someone that finds gift shopping to be effortless? You know what to buy, where to buy it from and are 100% certain that your special someone will love what you’ve chosen? If not, you’re not alone. There are many people out there that struggle to choose the right gift for someone and spend a lot of time thinking, researching and borderline stressing.

Gifting is something that we do on a fairly frequent basis as it’s always someone’s birthday, anniversary, farewell or get well and then before we know it it’s Christmas time!

If you’re time poor, on a budget or just genuinely dislike wandering around shopping centres getting pounced on by over-enthusiastic retail assistants in every store, then we have good news for you! Let’s talk about the best, most costly, delicious, generic gift that is bound to be a hit with almost everyone on your gift list… the scented candle.

Now gents, I know you’re thinking candles are typically a female orientated gift but believe me, they’re not! My partner LOVES candles because they create a sense of calmness and help him concentrate when he’s studying or working (sorry babe) and there are actually lots of candles designed specifically for men in boutique stores on the Gold Coast and online.

Similar to buying alcohol for someone, it can be overwhelming with the number of different candle brands saturating the market. To help you on your next candle gift endeavour, we’ve narrowed it down and listed our top picks:

Glasshouse Fragrances
“AHHHH” is the sound you will make when you lift the lid off a Glasshouse candle and take a whiff. Amazing! If you’ve ever seen a Glasshouse candle, you’ll know that they are presented just beautifully and smell even better. They’re a larger candle as well, so they will last your friend/work colleague/lover quite some time. Kyoto is one of my favourites as it’s not overbearing and emits a lovely oriental aroma. For something a little more fresh opt for Bora Bora which combines the smell of cilantro and orange zest, yum! Ecoya
Also gracing the shelves of iconic department stores and boutiques is Ecoya, an eco-luxe home fragrance and body care brand. If you haven’t already heard of this one, they not only do incredibly scented candles but have a variety of diffusers, soaps and lotions to choose from as well. Sweet Pea & Jasmine is life-changing as is French Pear, so may you need to pick up a couple of extras in case you decide you’re in need of a little gift as well. Pineapple Candle
Last but not least, is QT’s super cute pineapple candle! What appears to be a silver pineapple ornament actually opens up to be a soy candle that has a burn time of up to 50 hours. And hey, if you don’t feel like lighting the candle you can use the little fella as a centrepiece or a bedside table topper.
