The Gold Coast has some of the best beaches in the world and, I swear, I’m not biased at all! As kids living on the Gold Coast, many a Saturday morning was spent with our dads pretending we could ride waves, while our mums walked Burleigh Heads with the dogs (before they were banned from the beach).
The beach trend continues and Gold Coast living really is pretty swell (pun intended)!
Burleigh Beach
Perfect for families and groups of mates wanting to enjoy the parklands or the beach, the waves aren’t too rough and the beach space is ample. Chuck in a couple of BBQ favourites and a picnic rug, and your weekend catch up is set to be a winner!
Nobby Beach
As one of the more bustling destinations on the Gold Coast with beach front bars, restaurants and cafés, there is always something happening. Be warned, you non-locals, don’t call her Nobbies as that will make you stand out like a body boarder in a surfing club. Nobbies is another great location for a classic Aussie barbie with an indie twist.
Budds Beach
The diamond in the rough, hidden behind the towers of Surfer’s Paradise and only a short walk or beach cruiser from QT Gold Coast, you’ll find Budds Beach.
Along with an A-list crowd of activewear wearing mums you’ll find Bumbles Café owned by local legend, Kate. Let’s just say it opened with her “love of doodling, a couple of internet searches and a li’l white wine”. It’s the perfect stop for a cuppa or a glass of wine if you’re out on the boat … Designated drivers are always welcome!
The Spit
Definitely not a surfers dream land but for doggo lovers great and small, this is your place. It’s a beach to let your four legged fur babies run around and play in the waves and make new friends, just always remember to carry your doggie bags.
