How was yall's weekend? Whether you chilled, partied, traveled, worked, saw family, went on a date…I hope you had fun! Wishing y'all a wonderful week ahead. I can't believe it's February already! ♥️♥️♥️ … … #jetsetjebbietravels #beechworth #wandervictoria #visitvictoria #yourhappyspace #australia #seeaustralia #visitaustralia #livingdestinations #speechlessplaces #cntraveler #welltravelled #traveladdicted #karenmillen #karenmillendress
Painted in muted hues of honey, the town is blessed with warm local granite in colonial fashion that gives a brilliant contrast between the strewn landscape and traditional European cottage. Perhaps complimenting the magnificent local honey (which we must add that the fine dining here is paired with appropriately infused honeys) and other gourmet produce, although famous for gold we promise there is more that lies in the bounty.
Meandering through the leafy streets, find homemade sweet shops, original stone bakeries, smoke houses, unique arts and contemporary living amongst the juggernaut, Bridge Road Brewery. Channelling those Parisian vibes, you’ll find a plethora of local wineries renown for a stunning European drop, award winning in more savoury notes than your typical bold Barossa, and nearly too easy to enjoy.
For those who love that spark of adrenaline, the retired Beechworth Gaol hosts midnight tours and when the stories begin with Ned Kelly’s last stand you ought to be in for a treat. Or, if you want the kind of adventure where you can still sleep peacefully at night, Woolshed Falls is a magnificent cascade of waterfalls and waterholes, perfect for a picnic delight as well as Mount Pilot – a climbing adventure. Like the brilliance of the humbled European countryside, dive into a world of unique charm filled with something for all.
While we feel like we’ve landed in the French countryside, Beechworth is a two hour drive from Falls Creek and gifts chirrups of birds flitting through the towering gum trees that is nothing short of uniquely Australian.
