Cartier: The Exhibition Grand Opening

Be the first to step into the dazzling world of Maison Cartier, when the National Gallery of Australia unveils its best-kept secret – Cartier: The Exhibition this long weekend. After months of anticipation, the exhibition will finally reveal itself to the public and it’s said to be nothing short of breathtaking. The exhibition features more than 300 masterpieces from the Paris jewellery house, following the iconic label throughout its remarkable 20th-century history. Experience the poetic amalgamation of art, passion, and style that is the Cartier collection.

National Folk Festival

Throw yourself into the ultimate celebration of all things folk, and experience the vibrant atmosphere that is the National Folk Festival. Taking place over the long weekend, the festival plays host to a number of themed bars, food and market stalls, circus performers and roving musicians to name a few.

The festival is set to showcase more than 200 acts representing diverse styles such as acoustic, blues, roots, bluegrass, world, Celtic, traditional, gypsy and country, so it’s safe to say everyone is bound to find something they love. Whether you choose to set up camp, or simply spend a day or two wandering, this annual event is an Easter must.

The Art of Science: Baudin’s Voyagers 1800-1804

Feel like getting your culture on? Say no more. Get up close and personal with mesmerising illustrations of Australian animals and marine life, and explore intimate portraits of the first Australians, alongside rare documents and hand-drawn maps from Nicolas Baudin’s expedition to Australia. Discover the ambitions behind this lavishly funded French voyage and experience a captivating fusion of art and science. This free exhibition is a great way to head out and enjoy some quality time with the family.

The Ultimate Picnic Feast

Who says Easter can’t come early? If you’re in the mood for a food coma, look no further than the Ultimate Picnic Feast. Hosted by the Eat Canberra Food Tribe, this epic picnic will see you adventuring around the capital, all whilst experiencing the best bites Canberra has to offer. The Food Tribe will lead you to a number of secret checkpoints, where you will be greeted with Insta-worthy food spreads that are guaranteed to hit those sweet spots. Try to think of a better way to explore Canberra this Easter … we’ll wait.
