Your Guide to Groovin’ the Moo

Apr 19, 2018  ·  3 min read

With Groovin’ the Moo in sight, it’s time to start prepping for Canberra’s favourite festival.

We’ve put together a few tips and tricks to get you started to make the most of the ‘Moo’ magic …

Your pump up playlist

Whether you’re reuniting with your old-school favourites, or getting to know the killer artists in the line-up, hit up the official Groovin’ the Moo 2018 playlist on Spotify for all of your pre-festival jams. Listen to the playlist here.

The party before the party

GTM Official Launch Party at Capital Brewing Co.

Capital Brewing Co. is throwing the ultimate lead up celebration with the GTM Official Launch Party on Thursday the 26th of April. For $10 a ticket, you can expect great music, fine brews, access to exclusive merch packs, and your chance to win a double pass to Groovin’ the Moo – the perfect excuse for a mid-week beer, really.

Official GTM 2018 Warm Up Party

Feeling game? UC Hub is throwing the mother of all warm-up parties on Saturday the 28th of April for those who want to kickstart GTM a day early. Get down for a line-up of local DJ’s and bands, and soak up some free food and delectable drinks as well. If you miss out, they will also be giving away 10 free tickets to the festival …

Our Top Tips for the Festival

  1. Rug up – Despite the sunny days, this time of year can bring an unexpected chill to the evenings, so make sure you bring a warm backup plan for your outfit.
  2. Bring cash – Although most festivals now accept card, you never know when you’re going to be hit with the ‘Cash Only’ palm. Better to be safe than sorry!
  3. Make the set times your phone background – This one is particularly handy when it comes to saving your phone battery. To avoid logging in and out of your phone and wasting battery, simply screenshot the set times and set them as your phone background. Easy!
  4. Bring a portable charger – These pocket-size beauties are perfect for peace of mind when you get separated from your gang, with the added bonus of being able to create all of the Snapchat FOMO you like.
  5. Sensible shoes – We don’t mean to sound like the grandma … But sensible shoes go a long way! Think Doc Martens, boots, and anything that covers your toes gets a thumbs up from us.

To keep in the know with everything Groovin’ the Moo, you can follow the official ‘Moos’ page here.
