Canberra Comedy Festival

There’s something to be said about that deep tummy laugh. That belly laugh that is hard to control, maybe even a little snort comes out. That’s when those close to you reassess the relationship. I always find that a comedy gig really sorts our those relationships, not only are you sure of a laugh, but you might loose a friendship you don’t need.

Thankfully, ’tis the season as the Canberra Comedy Festival is about to arrive in town with a what is a seriously stacked line up of some pretty funny people.

To tempt you, here are our top five picks for the festival:

Becky Lucas
The first time I saw Becky throw down her best five minutes of comedy, I think I fell for her. Lucas is a fresh female voice in the Australian comedy scene and is killing it. Brilliant wit, not to be missed.

Daniel Sloss
Hailing from Scotland, Sloss will be debuting his standup to the nation’s capital. Because he hails from Scotland he has that unique humour that is hard not to love. Last time he was in the country The Age said ‘Sloss is a festival highlight. See him’ ★★★★ ½ ‘. My thoughts exactly.

I'm a pretty princess

Hannah Gadsby
She’s fantastic. If you caught her character in Please Like Me, you know what I’m talking about. Highly emotive, while also being smack-me-in-the-face funny. Her comic timing is second no one.

Dilruk Jayasinha
Coming all the way from Sri Lanka, via Melbourne, Dilruk will have you absolute stitches in the first couple of minutes. last year his Melbourne shows sold out, you don’t want to miss his Canberra shows.

Luke McGregor
He’s that awkward friend that’s hard not love. From the nervous voice to the just socially awkward situations, McGregor brings something a little different to the table but leaves you with many laughs.

After reading this list of must see’s, it’s now time to trust me and put your fingers to work booking those tickets. You can do all that HERE.

Let out a snort for me.
