10 Canberra Blogs To Follow

Aug 18, 2016  ·  4 min read

By Ashleigh Went.

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but in Canberra we’ve really been stepping up our game in the past few years. Far more than just a public service town, we’ve really found our groove and embraced our own unique style, with a culture built around terrific foodie destinations and coffee spots and art, theatre, and fashion that’s on point. We’re a town with a lot to say for ourselves, and who better to say it than our impressive squad of local bloggers with coffee and iPhone in hand and pens (or rather keyboards) at the ready.

A Stylish Moment

Jemma Mrdak belongs on Fashion Bloggers. She’s got amazing style, seemingly perennial ‘cool girl’ glossy hair, and a kickass style of writing. I love her blogging advice and checking what she’s wearing. She dishes out no-nonsense advice and ways to incorporate trends into your everyday wardrobe.

In the Taratory

Tara Cheyne is “reviewing anything and everything the ACT and surrounds have to offer” and she means everything. There’s arts, theatre, cultural experiences, and food… all the food. She even posts delicious recipes. Her pictures are beautiful and she delivers everything you need to know in a straight up, relatable and honest style, just the way we like it.

Le Bon Vivant

I could literally scroll through Rachi Perera’s blog for hours and not get bored. Her photos are gorgeous and reading her posts make me feel like I’m living vicariously through her food and wine adventures and jet-setting jaunts.

 The Girl Has Sparke

I feel like if Megan Sparke and I met, we’d probably be best friends – but I think the rest of Canberra might feel that way too. It’s not just her beautiful photography and well-penned blog posts that get you, but it’s the way her personality shines through. She covers everything, from fashion to travel to general life stuff, but my favourite is her food write-ups – especially her Breakfast Project, which is well worth a read.

Happy Schnapper

Sophie Ranson is on a mission to get Canberra ladies looking luxe… for less. With experience as a fashion model and a passion for photography and fashion, Sophie snaps her super stylish outfits and brings tips on repurposing and restyling existing wardrobe items, as well as where to get cheap finds. Our fave is her Tight Ass Tuesday posts where she brings together a whole look for under $100 – brilliant!

Edible Cities CBR

When Edible Cities CBR popped up on my Instagram feed, it was love at first sight. They covered all the places I wanted to go and ordered all the things I wanted to try, delivering honest assessments and drool worthy pictures. The reviews on the website are well worth checking out if you’re deciding where to head for your next breakfast or lunch date. These guys just keep getting better and better…

The Fashion Vault

Reading The Fashion Vault makes me feel like I’m glamorous and fabulous even when I’m in un-showered in my PJs. Editors Janette Lenk, Sofia Polak and Daniella Jukic and their team of contributors post beauty and fashion advice, various stylish happenings around town, latest collections, profiles on beautiful people and more. If you need a little inspo or just like to stay in the loop of what’s hot around town, visit the Vault.

Ink and Leathers

Grant Heino is one of the few male bloggers in Canberra and he kills it. We love him no only because he’s a regular at QT Canberra (a clear indication of style credentials if ever there was one) but because he makes us laugh with his witty way of writing and his personal style is on fleek.
