American Express Open Air Cinemas returns!
Your favourite open-air cinema is back.
With Date Night season in full swing, we couldn’t be more excited to announce that Canberra’s favourite outdoor cinema is returning to the capital this January. Expect much more than movies this time around, as American Express Open Air Cinemas uncovers an exciting festival program of food, fun and flicks for 2019.
We know what you’re thinking…Enough of the mystery. It’s time to uncover what to expect for this year’s festival.
With the National Library as a backdrop, the festival vibes will be in full swing with an array of alternative entertainment, live music and DJ performances before the latest and greatest feature films light up the big screen.
This year you can level up your viewing experience by bringing along your best friend of the canine kind. You heard right – Dogs are welcome to all screenings! (Be mindful that some films do have expected gunfire and explosions).
This year’s program covers all of the year’s Box Office hits and highly anticipated new releases including A Star is Born, Aquaman, Bumblebee and Vice. If you’re heading along with your little ones, you can enjoy a selection of great new family flicks including:The Grinch, Mary Poppins Returns, Disney’s The Nutcracker and Instant Family.
Sit back and indulge in tasty scoops from Haagen Dazs, and wet your whistle with 4 Pines Craft Beer, PIMMS, and Geisen Wines. Black Devil Cider will also be on the menu.
American Express card members are invited to relax and enjoy the full VIP cinema experience by purchasing a ticket to the American Express Lounge. Card members will get comfortable with their own bean bag, a cushion and complimentary blanket hire as well as some tasty treats. American Express card members also enjoy 15% off selected tickets and access to the American Express Garden to enjoy sunset drinks.
For the ultimate luxe experience, you can add a touch of home comfort to your night under the starts, with a lounger or blanket.
We’ll see you under the stars.
