A Night At The Museum

How many opportunities in our adult lives do we have to dress up as Batman or Wonder woman and venture out into the public realm (as opposed to those Superman pyjamas that you can’t quite bear to throw away)?

Not many (if any).

Well never fear, caped crusaders, because this Friday at the National Museum of Australia, you can raid the dress-up drawer and indulge in a night of adult fun.

A Night at the Museum is back for another year, a series of themed evenings at the NMA that indulges the senses and encourages the big kids to play.

The theme this time round is Heroes and Villains, where you are encouraged to turn up in costume and partake in the vast and various activities throughout the museum, which is activated after hours.

From performances and workshops to games, around every corner is a fun and unexpected activity.

One turn could lead you to the Naked Girls Reading, citing extracts from the diaries of Australia’s most notorious villains. Another turn could lead you to Richard Vegas, a Mentalist and Illusionist who has the power to read your mind.

You may want to test your skill in a stunt, method acting or dance workshop, after which you will no doubt be grateful for the pop-up bar serving cocktails, drinks and bar snacks or grab some dinner in the Museum Café.

Nerf gun ninjas can test their aim while it’s Batman vs Superman in superpower sumo wrestling. The evening is set to be interactive, engaging and a chance to let out your inner child with no seriousness allowed!

The event takes place from 6.00pm – 9.30pm but the fun doesn’t stop there.

The after party is being held at our very own Lucky’s Speakeasy from 9.30pm until late. You can score yourself a cheeky free drink card at the event to indulge in back at Lucky’s. All Caped Crusaders and Villains welcome! Enter our competition to win 2 tickets to the event, VIP transfers to the after-party at Lucky’s and a $100 bar tab here.
