The Sydney Harbour Bridge is Sydney’s second most recognisable thing behind the Opera House. It’s nicknamed “the Coat Hanger” due to its arch shape, but is referred to as “the Bridge” by Sydney locals.
The Bridge carries trains, cars, bicycles and people on foot between the Sydney central business district (CBD) and the North Shore.
For one of the best city views, you can climb the bridge – it’s costly, but well worth it. Try and get a sunset timeslot and prepared to be blown away… not literally.
