Mamasan

It’s always a good sign when the success of a restaurant demands that it opens a second location. Being five years in Bondi and now with a restaurant in the trendy suburb of Surry Hills, Mamasan, is a safe recommendation.

You’ll find it a little back from the beach and opposite the Beach Road Hotel. It’s a small yum cha and tapas restaurant with cold beers and good service.

The décor is Moulin Rouge meets 1920’s Shanghai meets Bondi Beach. Couple this with sashimi, sushi, charcoal yakitori, dumplings, a host of other Asian inspired delights and you’ve got yourself a pretty fun time.
