Bondi Beach

What can be said about Bondi Beach that you haven’t already heard? The golden stretch of sand is the most famous beach in Australia. It’s a place for boardshorts, bikinis and the odd topless sunbaker. The smell of sea salt and sun cream is in the air. A sunny day will present a fine mix of people upon the hot Bondi sand; celebrity, sport star, burnt tourist and bronzed local. Surfers carve the fast, fun and ledgey breaks, swimmers splash between the flags and the now famous, Bondi Lifeguards, always keep a watchful eye. At both ends of the beach you’ll find ocean pools, one of which is Australia’s oldest swimming club, the Bondi Icebergs. And perched on the beachfront is the oldest lifesaving club in the world, the Bondi Surf Bathers. An ever-changing graffiti wall runs along the promenade that borders the sand and behind that lies the skate park, Bondi pavilion and a collection of cafes, bars and boutique shops. Bondi Beach is the beating heart of the vibrant city suburb. Bondi Beach is an Australian icon.
