Your Weekend Guide for Bondi

Cheers to the weekend and what busy working week that was! Remember that weird day that was wedged between the weekend and ANZAC Day? It was kind of like a three day week, but not. Anywho, it’s already the weekend again, so what’s your plan for the weekend?

If it has anything to do with fine food, fashion and swell then you’re in the right place.

Welcome to your weekend guide to Bondi, a look at where to eat, drink, explore and a quick swell report from out good friends at Coastalwatch.

Eat
What’s green, made of peas, has a deliciously fresh mint salad, avocado, feta and a perfectly poached egg sitting atop. It’s the Green Pea Pancake from the team at Porch & Parlour and it’s downright delicious. Nil bias. No advertisement. This thing is one of the best dishes in Bondi. Try it. Order a long black with it. They compliment each other so well. Thank me later.

Drink
Make your way to the newly refurbed Hotel Ravesis on Sunday afternoon for a chilled Cuban vibe and a couple of weekend toasts. This place has had a fresh facelift and is looking damn fine. A perfect setting to bid farewell to the weekend that was and get ready for the first full working week of May 2017.

Explore
When was the last time you went back to back at the Bondi Markets? Both Saturday and Sunday are completely different to each other. Procure all your weeks produce from the Bondi Farmers Market on Saturday, while snacking on a cheese toastie and then on Sunday you can pick up some new designs from a local label before they get famous. Weather/Swell
The boffins at BOM are calling a 90% chance of rain all weekend, but remember Bowl-a-Rama weekend, it was forecasted for cats and dogs to be falling from the blue ceiling… never happened. So keep that in mind when you’re looking at the weather maps this weekend. With the maximum temp sitting around 22 degrees and the water rolling into Bondi at an equal 22.8, it’s a good weekend to hit the water. The surf prognosis from Coastalwatch is showing 4ft – 8ft swell over the weekend, so wax that stick.
