Can Cava Pintxos & Wine

First stop up top at the corner of Glenyr Ave & Hall St and fresh onto the Bondi scene, Can Cava has made its presence known among the local populous in a big way. If you’ve ever been to San Sebastian and gone bar hopping, sampling the pintxos and knocking back the vino till the early hours, you’ll know good the euro beachside lifestyle can be.

The guys at Can Cava have brought a bit of that Spanish flair down to Bondi. With a unique selection of bite-size dishes, a tasty range of Spanish wines and damn fine jugs of Sangria. The cool-as-a-cucumber Head Chef, Dan Rocha will treat your taste buds to a culinary awakening with the goat’s cheese croquet and pork shoulder being particularly out of this world.

Taqiza Mexican

Another new kid on the block. The cosy little restaurant has quickly become a local favourite and is packed out almost every night of the week. The brains behind the operation say the menu is inspired by paradoxical realities, rich gastronomic history and the vivid colours of Mexico.

The whole menu is packed full of authentic Mexican flavours with gorge-yourself Guac, melt-in-your-mouth tuna ceviche and the imaginative taco selection that features seared salmon and birria style goat. It’s contemporary Mexican cuisine at its best. Grab a spot on the outdoor porch and dig into an assortment of Mexican delights. Maybe a couple of Mezcal shots or for a truly life-changing cocktail, the Jalapeño Margarita.

Bonditony’s Burger Joint

Hailed as the best burger in Bondi Beach, these guys actually walk the walk. Their signature burger, the Trippin Zeahorse, is the most ordered item on Deliveroo in Australia. It also places in the top 5 worldwide. Long-time local gig-lord Tony Gosden has channelled his hoarding habit and love for music into a seriously cool rock and roll burger joint. It’s decked out with his personal collection of festival posters, album art and signed platinum records– it’s organized chaos.

There’s cold craft beer on tap and the legendary floor team certainly know their way around a cocktail. So get the boys in the kitchen to whip you up some wings, crack open a cold one outside and enjoy the best burger in Bondi. Just make sure you don’t leave without checking out the bathroom, it’s the sickest loo you’ll ever see.
